Another popular spot on the coast is Redondo County Beach. Located only a short drive south of Torrance, it's a 1.5-mile-long stretch of sand. After you visit the beach, you can drive to the Redondo Beach Pier for more fun. Alternatively, you can take a hike on the many trails in the national park. In addition, there are numerous shops and restaurants in the area. Those who don't want to spend the entire day at the beach can also visit the Redondo Beach Farmers Market.

Torrance Beach is a popular location for scuba diving, surfing, and fishing. Although it's not as crowded as some of the beaches in the Los Angeles area, it's still a great place to visit. You can swim in the calm waters of the water and enjoy the views of the Palos Verdes cliffs.

In 2002, Torrance Beach underwent a major construction makeover. New restrooms and showers were added, and new concession stands were built. In addition, a set of stairs led down to the beach. These were erected at the southern end of the beach, replacing a snack shack that had been there for several years. Several other improvements took place, including a new parking lot at the top of the bluff.

Torrance Beach is the last beach on the South Bay Bike Path. As you ride along the path, you can look out over the Palos Verdes Peninsula and the ocean. Many people visit this beach for its scenic views, as it's a great place to see the sun rise and set.
